SCOTTISH COUNTRY DANCING

 

Monday 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.

 

Scottish Country Dancing is suitable for all ages and new members are welcome to join, whether to improve or for out of practice dancers. Partners are not needed, nor a kilt!  The group has contacts with similar clubs in the area and hosts an open evening each year for these friends.



EXERCISE FOR 40+

 

Monday 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.

 

An exercise class for mature ladies, although all ages are welcome.  Come to our sessions of exercise and movement to music and meet other ladies who want to keep fit and healthy.

 

 

RHYTHM NOT BLUES

 

Mondays 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm.

 

A group of friendly volunteers welcome all, including those with memory problems or long term illnesses together with family and/or carers, to enjoy an hour of singing and fun. Classes offer students exercises to stretch and tone the body, breath awareness techniques, relaxation and sometimes meditation. No matter what your age or level of physical fitness you will benefit from regular Yoga practice – all are welcome.

 

TAI CHI

Covers the principles of Tai Chi on a practical basis.  A combination of yoga and meditation to help foster a calm and tranquil mind.  Benefits include postural improvement and prevention of tension and injury.

 


 

ART SOCIETY

 

Tuesday 10:00 am to 12:00 noon.

 

Formed in 1969 the Art Society hold two exhibitions in the town library each year. Although the society does not teach, new members are welcomed and encouraged whether beginners or experienced artists.

 


BOWLS CLUB

 

Tuesdays and Fridays 1:30 pm to 4:00 pm.

 

The Bowls Club provides year round indoor carpet bowling. Beginners looking for a new hobby, as well as more experienced players, are welcome and there is a mixture of male and female players.  The aim of the club is to engage in social activities as a group and enter competitions with other carpet bowling clubs. Disabled members are welcome at the Friday session.

 


 

DANCE CLUB

Tuesday 7:45 pm to 8:45 pm.

A class with a different approach to watercolour – come with an open mind and learn the fun way. Learn how to mix colours, create watercolour washes and compose paintings. A series of practical exercises will develop basic skills. Various techniques used in watercolour and other mediums. A relaxed and friendly atmosphere in which to build confidence.
